We do not want to let money be a barrier to your child continuing to learn on the instrument they have chosen and we have made funding available to support this. South West Music School - 2017-18 applications are now open!!


In 2017-18, South West Music School are offering the following four programmes...

  • Foundation Programme: open to approx. 8 – 12 years. It will offer six workshops per year plus the opportunity to participate in our short courses menu of additional opportunities. Fees: £360.
  • Feeder Plus Programme: open to approx. 12 – 16 years. It will offer three weekend residentials per year, plus a £600 budget for short courses and a tuition and mentoring programme. (means tested grants available).
  • Core Programme: open to approx. 14 – 20 years. No changes: it will still offer two four day residentials per year, plus £600 budget for short courses and a tuition and mentoring programme. (means tested grants available).
  • Composer Programme: open to approx. 13 – 20 years. No changes: it will still offer three residentials per year, £200 for short courses and a mentor/tutor assigned to each student. (means tested grants available).

The ages for each programme are approximate. Each student is assessed on a number of different criteria and SWMS will offer you a place on the programme that they feel you are best suited to at this time.
